While a lot of the upgrades (like the automated pinch roller system and new fixed media clamps) are physical changes, others, such as the new feature that allows for perf-cutting image boundaries, are software-driven.  In the past, with other models, VersaWorks allowed for a regular contour cut around the image boundaries.  With the VG2 and VersaWorks 6, it is now possible to do this function as a perf cut without having to use the \u201cPerfCutContour\u201d swatch in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.  Here\u2019s how to take advantage of this great new feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, go to the cutting tab in VersaWorks 6. Here is where we can select to use either a contour cut or a perforated cut for image boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image-1.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image-1-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the box that says, \u201cCut Image Boundaries.\u201d If just a regular contour cut is needed, then nothing further needs to be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image2.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.far-from-normal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Image2-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To generate a perf cut, check the \u201cPerform Perforated Cut for Image Boundaries\u201d box and set values for Perforation Length, Perforation Force, Half-cut length and Half-cut Force. Once you\u2019ve done so, the file will be ready to go.
